Fire crews swiftly contained a blaze at a San Diego Marriott, involving 114 personnel and injuring one person.
SAN DIEGO — Crews were battling a high-rise hotel fire in San Diego’s Mission Valley neighborhood, it was reported Thursday.
Units were dispatched around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday to 8757 Rio San Diego Drive at a Marriott near the intersection of Qualcomm Way, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Fire officials said they were able to wrap up the blaze in about two hours.
Some 114 personnel were assigned to the fire, including 16 engines, six trucks and one medic, the department said.
San Diego Fire-Rescue said that one person was taken to the hospital. A fire investigator has also been assigned.Â
CBS 8 spoke with a staff member at the hotel, who said guests were allowed to go back to their rooms early Thursday morning.Â
The City of El Cajon assisted in the effort.
