Caltrans will close westbound Highway 50 from I-5 to west of Jefferson Blvd for nightly work Oct. 26–31 and a 55-hour weekend closure Oct. 31–Nov. 4.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Caltrans is alerting drivers of upcoming overnight and weekend closures on westbound U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) between Sacramento and West Sacramento as part of the ongoing $280 million I-80 and US 50 Pavement Rehabilitation Project.

The work will temporarily shut down westbound lanes between the Interstate 5 (I-5) interchange in Sacramento County and Jefferson Boulevard in Yolo County. Drivers should plan for significant delays, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes.

Full overnight closures of westbound US 50 are scheduled Sunday through Friday, Oct. 31, nightly from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. between the I-5 and US 50 interchange to west of Jefferson Boulevard.

An additional 55-hour full closure is planned from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, through 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, to allow crews to complete demolition and pavement work. The same detour routes used during the nightly closures will apply during the weekend shutdown.
