The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine is well underway, meaning that there is more and more 2026 NFL Draft information that will start coming out. While there will be a lot of bad information and misdirection, this is also a good time to start connecting some dots. Formal visits in Indianapolis can be a useful tool to begin digging up some of the truth.

One of the more interesting defensive tackles in this class is former Ole Miss standout Zxavian Harris. At a verified 6-8 and 330 pounds, with extremely long arms, this is a massive interior presence who has flashes of nice moments on film. Unfortunately for Harris, his play was extremely hit or miss during the course of his career. There are going to be some defensive line coaches who would love to work with a raw player like Harris.

The San Francisco 49ers are a team that is showing some heavy interest in Harris so far, including conducting a formal interview with Harris. They are a team that is in desperate need of more interior defensive linemen. It wouldn’t be shocking to see the team invest in multiple defensive tackles in the 2026 NFL Draft. Harris appears to be a player to keep a close eye on moving forward.

Zxavian Harris’s career background

Harris was considered to be a consensus four-star player by each of the major recruiting platforms in the 2022 recruiting class. On the 247 Sports Composite ranking, he finished as the No. 136 overall player, the No. 20 defensive lineman, and the No. 4 player from the state of Mississippi for the class. Ole Miss won out against an elite offer list, which included Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Nebraska, Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Kansas, among others.

After contributing mostly on special teams as a freshman, Harris became an important contributor on defense the last three seasons. During that stretch, he has managed to collect 123 total tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. Harris also recorded one interception, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble. Despite doing a lot of the dirty work during his time in Oxford, the All-SEC standout managed to make his impact felt.
