Podcaster Joe Rogan suggested President Trump should replace Gavin Newsom as governor of California and “fix it” after he finishes his second term as US president.
During his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Wednesday, Rogan tore into the state over its Black Lives Matter protests and riots.
“What Donald Trump should do is when he leaves the office, run for governor of California,” Rogan said, bursting into a fit of laughter alongside his guests, Francis Foster and Konstantin Kasin, co-hosts of “Trigonometry.”

“Just take over California and fix it. It would be hilarious if he did. It would be one of the funniest things of all time if an 82-year-old man steps into the office of governor of California,” Rogan continued.
He then launched into an impression of the president, saying: “‘We’re gonna fix everything. You’ve got a problem with water, I know how to get the water.’ It would be f—ing hilarious.”
Earlier in the show, Rogan said he recently spoke with a friend who is fleeing Los Angeles because he can’t stand the state’s politics anymore.
“It’s like everybody went crazy. It’s like there’s something that happened because of the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter protests and the riots and all the chaos,” Rogan said.
“Whatever the temperature of society was, it hit societal global warming where it’s like – it’s time to investigate Greenland. It’s time to move north, like this is a bad climate now. This sucks.”
Kasin chimed in to agree, saying the weather is so beautiful in California that it feels like “paradise” when you step out of the airport – but politicians like Newsom “f—ed it up so bad that people will literally pack up and leave paradise.”

It’s not the first time Rogan has blasted the lefty state and its leadership. He previously called Newsom a “bulls–t artist” who “ruined” California.
Newsom responded earlier this month by daring “that son of a bitch” Rogan to “invite” him onto an episode of his podcast.
The next California gubernatorial election is in 2026. Trump would not be able to run for the seat until the 2030 election, when he would be 84.
