Get that sunblock out, as a weak offshore flow is expected to bring record-setting heat for Friday, the National Weather Service said.

Friday is expected to be the hottest day of the week with highs around 20-15 degrees above normal for this time of year, NBC 7 Meteorologist Sheena Parveen said.

High temperatures on Friday will range from around 80 near the coast to the upper 80s to mid-90s in the valleys, the NWS said.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to be cooler but still be above average for this time of year for the coast and inland valleys. On Sunday, high temperatures will still be around 10 degrees above average near the coast, and 15 to 20 degrees above average for inland areas. High temperatures are expected to range from the lower to mid 70s near the coast to the lower to mid 80s for the valleys, with lower deserts in the 90s, the NWS said.

Fri will be the warmest day of this week, w/ widespread 80-90s outside of the higher mtns & the potential for several broken daily temp records. Heat illness can happen year-round here, so just a reminder to drink extra water & take breaks in the shade if working/playing outside! pic.twitter.com/yiwxqQwIQv
