Los Angeles Father Dies Under ICE Custody — 9th Death This Year ~ L.A. TACO

Alberto Gutierrez was taken by ICE agents on January 9 in Echo Park.

According to the family, Gutierrez began to feel seriously ill last Friday, and his repeated requests for medical attention was denied.

Gutierrez died around 1:00 a.m. on February 27. He was the sole provider for his wife and son.

Gutierrez’s death is currently the ninth death under ICE custody that we know of.
