The Buena Park Coyotes will venture away from home to square off against the Anaheim Colonists at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Buena Park nor Hillcrest made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Coyotes fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Coyotes have now taken an ‘L’ in back-to-back games.

Buena Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olina Burgueno, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Burgueno is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she’s now launched at least one in each of the last three games she’s played.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Anaheim made sure to put some runs up on the board against Westminster on Wednesday. The Colonists blew past the Lions 18-2. The Colonists have beaten the Lions the last three times they’ve met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Chloe Tabita was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Tabita was also stellar in the batter’s box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That’s the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Anaheim let Mak Acosta and Valerie Florido run wild. Acosta went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Florido went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Florido a new career-high. Tatyana Rosa was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Buena Park’s loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Anaheim, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Buena Park was able to grind out a solid win over Anaheim in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, winning 20-16. Will the Coyotes repeat their success, or do the Colonists have a new game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
