BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The ridge of high pressure that has sat over Baja most of the past week will finally give way to its counterpart: a weakening weather system that has been sitting and spinning in the form of a low all week over the Pacific. This is forecast to finally swing inland Sunday night and Monday. That should effectively help turn the temperatures down and maybe bring a possibility of mainly light rainfall up into parts of southcentral California.

That chance of briefly damp weather will be most likely across the foothills and west/northwest facing mountain slopes. Many, if not most areas could stay dry.

More cooler weather potential is in the forecast for midweek, and possibly beyond, as more of a northwest flow could kick into our region.

Have a great day!
