Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector Jordan Kaufman is not going to seek re-election, he announced Monday morning.
“After much self-reflection and many family discussions, I have decided not to run for another term as the Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector. This was not an easy decision as I feel privileged and honored to work on behalf of the citizens of Kern County and the many local public agencies that participate in the County Treasury Investment Pool, Kaufman said in a written statement.
Kaufman has served three terms in office.
He endorsed Assistant Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector, Chase Nunneley, to succeed him.
