Authorities are investigating a shooting in West Long Beach that left a man hospitalized Sunday night.

Long Beach police say the man was in the 2100 block of West Spring Street around 8:36 p.m. when he was shot.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took him to a local hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his lower body, according to authorities. Police said his wound was not considered life-threatening.

Suspect information and the motive for the shooting remain under investigation, according to the LBPD.

About six hours later, a man was stabbed in North Long Beach during what police called a “domestic violence incident.”

The stabbing took place in the 5400 block of Locust Avenue around 2:46 a.m. Monday, police said.

LBFD personnel took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound in his upper body, authorities said.

The investigation into that incident is ongoing, police said.
