Campus Water Emergency Response

Students and Staff Welcome back students in front of Library

The FCC faculty and classified professionals demonstrated remarkable dedication and agility during an emergency campus closure from February 2–4, ensuring that student support remained uninterrupted. The
Counseling Department led a massive effort, serving 1,535 students over the three-day period, while Outreach’s Registration-to-Go program successfully assisted 530 students. Significant milestones were also
reached by Admissions & Records, which handled 288 inquiries; DSPS, which managed 57 appointments; alongside outreach to 59 high school students. These efforts, combined with the Veteran Resource Center’s 85 engagements and the Welcome Center’s steady support, highlight a seamless transition to remote and field-based service.

Additionally, faculty transitioned to online instruction for hundreds of students who could not meet in person. A Pop-up Ram Pantry in the New Science Building provided vital resources to 411 students, while the Health Center supported 130 individuals. Specialized programs also saw high engagement, including EOPS/CARE/NextUp with 112 students, CalWORKs with 65, and the Dream Center/International Office with 67. Housing assisted 35 students and the front desk teams managed a high
volume of correspondence. The collective hard work of every department ensured that the campus mission continued to thrive despite the physical
closure.
