A police officer was injured in a shooting Monday evening near the Metro Gold Line station in Pasadena, law enforcement said.

The shooting was reported at about 7:30 p.m. near Sierra Madre Villa and the 210 Freeway, according to the Pasadena Police Department. There, the officer and an individual described as a suspect were hit by gunfire, police said.

The officer was described as conscious and talking, and was transferred to Huntington Hospital after the shooting. The condition of the other individual who was shot was not clear.
