The 11th Anniversary O.C. Lantern Festival arrives at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall on March 7, 2026, offering a vivid window into the “East Meets West” soul of Orange County. Co-presented by the Pacific Symphony and the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center, this community gathering marks the first full moon of the Lunar New Year under the 2026 theme, “Illuminating the Future.” Inside the world-class concert hall, the stage features Chinese dance, martial arts, and orchestral collaborations.
Outside on the Argyros Plaza, the atmosphere is more hands-on. Families can spend the afternoon decorating lanterns, solving traditional riddles, or viewing the “Illuminating the Future” art contest winners in the lobby. The day concludes with a community dragon parade where participants carry their handmade lanterns across the plaza.

Navigating the Day
A helpful detail for those planning to attend is the shift toward a mandatory online RSVP for all indoor performances. While the outdoor plaza activities remain open to all without a ticket, entry into the concert hall itself requires a digital pass in advance. The afternoon is a bridge between the old and the new, celebrating the first season of Artistic Director Alexander Shelley while honoring a decade of local tradition.
