Coming to City Council

Coming to City Council March 3

Non-Consent

Brings us in line with state housing goals and changes some regulation around live/work spaces.

Adopts and implements portions of State bill allowing for more development near transit hubs. There is some question about whether we should also speedily allow for this sort of increased development in District 1 or if we should delay that. In committee I brought up an amendment to fully adopt SB 79 in District 1 immediately, but my colleagues did not vote with me. I may bring this up again at the meeting. My goal is to make sure that we are doing everything we can to build new housing along the commercial corridors, rather than pushing it into the residential neighborhoods. ***This item may generate significant discussion.**
