A two-alarm blaze that started in a carport displaced 60 residents from a Campbell apartment complex on Monday afternoon.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which broke out shortly before 1 p.m. at the two-story complex in the 400 block of Kuehnis Drive, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department. Fire crews knocked down the blaze by about 1:45 p.m.
“While the fire destroyed three vehicles, the quick work of our firefighters prevented further structural loss,” fire officials said on social media.
Windows on 10 apartments at the 26-unit complex had significant heat damage, and due to electrical line issues, power to the entire complex was turned off, fire department spokesperson Erica Ray said.
