Four gang members were arrested after a shooting at a baby shower in Anaheim left three people hospitalized.

On Feb. 28, Anaheim police responded to the 2000 block of S. Sprague Lane around 7:15 p.m.

Investigators said four gang members arrived at the courtyard to confront rival gang members who were attending the shower.

The suspects, armed with two handguns and an AR-style firearm, shot into the crowd, striking three juvenile gang members and an adult bystander, police said. They fled the scene before officers arrived.

The three juvenile victims were taken to a local hospital, where they remain in stable condition. The adult victim was treated at the scene.

Following an investigation, detectives identified the suspects as Zine Jassim, 18, of Anaheim and three juveniles whose identities were not released due to their minor status.

On March 1, two suspects were located and arrested in Whittier. During the arrest, officers found an AR-style firearm and an unserialized black semi-automatic handgun believed to have been used in the shooting.

On March 2, the other two suspects were arrested in Santa Ana. Search warrants were served during the arrests, where additional evidence related to the case was discovered.

All four suspects were charged with various crimes, including attempted murder, conspiracy, aggravated assault, weapons violations and gang enhancements.

“I am proud of the swift and professional response demonstrated by our team in identifying, locating, and safely apprehending the individuals responsible for this violent crime,” said Anaheim Police Chief Manny Cid. “We will continue to pursue justice with determination and resolve. Those who threaten the safety of our community will be held accountable.”
