Oakland police say a man has been linked to at least six instances of prowling in East Oakland neighborhoods.

Neighbors tell police they’ve spotted the person peering into their homes, with some reports saying he’s doing them from peoples’ yards. The incidents would take place between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

The suspect has been seen in several neighborhoods with the most recent incidents in Maxwell Park.

The reports started back in March 2025.

In some cases, police accuse the subject of engaging in inappropriate behavior.

The suspect is described as a balding male, possibly Caucasian or Latino, in his 40s or 50s. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans, according to OPD.

Police suspect there are more victims who have not yet come forward.

Police is reminding residents to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious activity, and share any relevant surveillance footage with investigators.
