BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The area of South Chester and Planz Road is closed as fire crews and PG&E are on scene of a ruptured gas line.

The Bakersfield Fire Department posted on social media, after 10 a.m., that crews are on scene of a ruptured gas line at South Chester and Planz Road.

South Chester is closed between Planz Road and Union Avenue.

PG&E is on scene working quickly to stop the leak.

Residents are asked to please avoid the area for the safe of responders working on scene.
