Fresno Man Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle Identified

A 68-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of First Street and Ashlan Avenue on Tuesday.

The Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s office identified the victim Wednesday as Donald Burkes of Fresno.

Fresno police said the call came in at 12:51 p.m. and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours during the investigation.
