SAN JOSE, Calif.— The San José State women’s tennis team (5-3, 0-0 MW) will face Santa Clara (3-7, 0-0 WCC) on Thursday, March 5, at noon from the Spartan Tennis Complex for their only match of the week.
Last week, the Spartans had an epic comeback win against UC Davis, 4-3, where Soledad Fayos Capilla clinched the match for the Spartans as the deciding singles point. After UC Davis, they hosted Cal Poly, where the Spartans fell short, 5-2.
In the Spartans’ last appearance against the Broncos, they had a narrow win, 4-3, on Feb. 28, 2025.
In last year’s matchup, Soledad Fayos Capilla and Duru Durgun each won their singles matches to clinch the win for the Spartans.
Against the Broncos, the Spartans have won all three past matches; winning this match would extend their streak to 4-0.
The Spartans are now 2-1 at home this season.
On court five, freshman Camila Celis is 6-1 in single dual matches, and she is 3-0 when it comes down to the third set.
