From Chateau Marmont cocktails to Venice dinners, Frieze Los Angeles sparked a week of art, fashion and star-studded celebrations across the city

Frieze Los Angeles once again turned the city into a gathering place for artists, collectors and celebrities, with a packed calendar of parties stretching from Hollywood to Venice. As galleries unveiled new work and collectors scoured the fair for their next acquisition, brands and cultural institutions hosted intimate events that blended contemporary art, fashion and music.

Across the week, guests included artists, curators and Hollywood regulars, all celebrating the international art fair’s growing presence in Los Angeles.

Here’s a look inside several of the standout gatherings that helped define Frieze week in L.A.

STAUD and Frieze kicked off the week on Feb. 25 with an intimate cocktail gathering at the penthouse of Chateau Marmont, hosted by STAUD founder Sarah Staudinger and MARI founder Ariel Emanuel. The lively event brought together a crowd of artists, collectors and entertainment figures to celebrate the opening of the Frieze Los Angeles art fair.

Among those spotted at the Hollywood landmark were Rachel Sennott, Dree Hemingway, Winnie Harlow, Orlando Bloom, Bill Maher, Scout Willis and Nick Kroll, alongside art world figures including Art Production Fund’s Casey Fremont, Frieze Director of Americas Christine Messineo and gallerist Jeffrey Deitch.

The evening also marked the debut of a limited-edition Tommy Bag created by STAUD in collaboration with artist Merikokeb Berhanu. Inspired by Berhanu’s painting Untitled CII (2025), the collectible bag was produced in four designs with only 10 pieces of each version available for purchase during the event.

Inside the Frieze Los Angeles fair itself, on opening night, Champagne house Ruinart unveiled a presentation tied to its global art initiative Conversations with Nature. The Ruinart Lounge showcased preparatory drawings and models by Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, offering an early look at his upcoming large-scale installations that will debut later this year in France.

Kawamata is known for sculptural installations built from reclaimed wood and furniture, often forming shelters, walkways and architectural structures that encourage visitors to interact with the environment.

The Frieze presentation marked the U.S. debut of the collaboration and highlighted the artist’s early concepts, including models, sketches and small-scale works that explore the relationship between architecture, nature and human observation.

The installation will travel to other international art fairs throughout the year, including Frieze New York and Art Basel Miami Beach. We’ll drink to that!
