Lincoln Heights—G.R.O.W. Lincoln Heights is also raising funds to buy out local street vendors and help them stay afloat or at home.

Holy Grounds’ building for sale

El Sereno—Holy Grounds’ building is for sale. Their business remains operable and removed from the sale, but let’s hope the purchaser doesn’t have too many ideas for the longstanding coffee shop.

Outdoor seating under review

Los Feliz—Ye Rustic Inn’s outdoor seating is under review due to neighbor complaints about the restaurant’s expansion permit. Ye Rustic Inn argues that the expansion is important to ensuring the neighborhood bar can continue to operate and contribute to the neighborhood’s spirit and is gathering signatures for a petition.

Praise for the thick burger

Northeast L.A.—Resy is rejoicing over the return of the thick bar burger, like the one at the new neighborhood eatery Hermon’s. Our restaurant critic Merrill Shindler agrees—in case you missed his full review.

Los Feliz shout out

Los Feliz—We may have left our hearts in San Francisco, but it looks like San Francisco left its stomach in Los Feliz. SF Gate wrote about the recent boom of trendy restaurants and bars—Wilde’s, Old Gold, Vandell’s—that sit beside hip classics—Mírate, Little Dom’s, All Time, the Dresden, and Ye Rustic—that make Los Feliz a major dining culture hub in LA.

Middle Eastern and Mexican fusion restaurant destination

Lincoln Heights—L.A. TACO chatted with chef Majda Belaroui of Moroccan Cafe Maghreb about fusing North African and Mexican flavors at the pop-up at Zizou.

El Sereno—L.A. TACO also talked with Tirsa and Steve Farah about their Egyptian- and Mexican-inspired taqueria, Tirzah’s Mexi-Terranean, which they opened in El Sereno after shuttering their Downtown L.A. Mexican restaurant. Now, the two fuse their family flavors together.

And if you’re looking for more Middle Eastern fusion tacos, L.A. TACO also recommends Lincoln Heights’ Almaya and Silver Lake’s Mid East Tacos. X’tiosu Kitchen in Bolye Heights is also serving up Mexican and Mediterranean fare.

Echo Park love

Echo Park / Historic Filipinotown—The Los Angeles Times gave some love to two new eateries in town—Little Fish, the former at-home popup of Echo Park residents Anna Sonenshein and Niki Vahle, and Henrietta, the day-to-night spot from Chi Spacca alum Max Lesser.

Highland Park—The Greyhound Bar and Grill is reviving its Monday oyster pop-ups. Guests can enjoy oysters, beer, wine and more, starting at 6:30 p.m.
