FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — An off-road motorcycle rider was hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck in Central Fresno on Tuesday evening.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. near Fresno Street and Weldon Avenue.
Police said the motorcycle did not have lights on when it entered the intersection.
“It appears the pit bike was going southbound on Fresno Street along the west curve, the truck was going northbound,” Fresno Police Sgt. Mike Stanford said. “The truck was making a left turn and as the pit bike was approaching the intersection, they collided in the intersection behind me.”
Officers described the rider’s injuries as serious, but said the person is expected to survive.
Police said the pickup driver stayed at the scene and was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.
