The USS Midway Museum is recruiting volunteer docents (museum tour guides). This is a great way to give back to your community and to meet interesting people. Free training classes for men and women are scheduled to begin Monday, June 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on board the ship in downtown San Diego. Training is eight weeks long and includes personalized on-the-job mentoring. Applications must be submitted and screened in advance, according to a news release.
Prior customer service and public speaking experience preferred. No military experience is required. Women and civilians are encouraged to apply. Six-month commitment required.
