A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Malibu after deputies say he was driving recklessly in Malibu on Saturday.

Inside the car, deputies found multiple open alcohol containers inside the vehicle, a nitrous oxide tank and a French bulldog in the passenger seat according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

According to LASD, a unit with Malibu Volunteers on Patrol first saw the man in a silver BMW on Trancas Canyon road, making an unsafe U-turn and almost crashing with pedestrians.

The driver then pulled over in a no parking zone on Pacific Coast Highway near Guernsey Avenue, “creating a dangerous obstruction for vehicles attempting to make U-turns,” the department said in a social media post.

The volunteer unit requested help from deputies at the Malibu/Lost Hills station after they say the man crashed into another vehicle when coming to a stop..

Deputies arrested the driver for DUI and transported to Malibu/Lost Hills Station.

A relative of the driver later arrived to retrieve the vehicle and the dog.
