FLORIN, Calif — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Union Pacific train in the area of 8500 Tiogawoods Drive, according to California Highway Patrol South Sacramento.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m., where an adult victim was pronounced dead on scene. The train crew was not hurt and are being offered support after the collision, according to Union Pacific.

It is currently unclear when the roads will be reopened; CHP South Sac says to find alternate routes in the meantime.
