Firefighters battled a blaze at a home in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday as winds whipped the region for a gusty day.

The fire was reported just before 11 a.m. near Oak Street and Kirkwood Drive. There, flames and dark smoke could be seen peeking through lush vegetation on the hills as they burned through the home.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire in just over an hour, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The flames fanned out to a nearby structure and surrounding vegetation, but firefighters extinguished them.

LAFD said crews will remain at the scene to monitor for any potential hotspots.

It’s unclear what started the fire. No injuries have been reported.
