Thirteen members of the 2025 San Diego State football team are expected to participate Tuesday morning in SDSU’s annual Pro Day with an eye on getting an opportunity at the next level.

Representatives from most of the NFL’s 32 teams are expected to attend, making notes for their organizations to consider as they make plans for the 2026 NFL Draft and free-agent signings.

SDSU cornerback Chris Johnson, coming off a strong showing in the NFL Combine, will be joined by three other members of the Aztecs’ secondary, safeties Eric Butler, Deshawn McCuin and Bryce Phillips. Other defenders participating include defensive lineman Sam Benjamin, edge Niles King and linebackers DJ Herman and Mister Williams.

Offensive linemen Christian Jones, Bayo Kannike and Ross Ulugalu-Maseuli and tight end Seth Adams will represent the offense. Kicker Gabe Plascencia, SDSU’s career leader in field goal percentage (87.8), will be there as well.

Three players from the University of San Diego — defensive lineman Malachi Cooper, running back Matt Colombo and linebacker Mo Vanderwiel — also have been invited.

Players will be measured for height, weight, hand and wingspan inside the Fowler Athletic Center before being tested in the weight room on the bench press, vertical jump and broad jump.

At about 10:30 a.m., the players will head outside to the SDSU practice fields, where they will run the 40 as well as agility and position drills. Plascencia will have a kicking workout during that time as well.

Johnson has been regarded as a second-round prospect, though his Combine performance raised the possibility of sneaking into the bottom of the first round. Jones and Phillips are the other Aztecs regarded as having the best chances to be selected in the seven-round draft, perhaps late on Day 3.

This year’s draft takes place April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
