OAKLAND, CA — A second victim died Saturday from a shooting in downtown Oakland that police said in an updated tally involved seven victims.
The Oakland Police Department said in an earlier statement that five people had been shot at about 3:30 a.m. in the 400 block of 14th Street.
One died at the scene. She was later identified by the police department as a 33-year-old woman.
Police said the second victim who died was a 25-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries at a hospital at about 11:30 a.m.
Five others were injured, including at least three who were hospitalized in stable condition.
Several people were detained, and multiple firearms were recovered from the scene.
