The Los Angeles Rams are already doing their new star right.

Just days after acquiring cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs in a blockbuster move, Los Angeles has handed out a record deal.

Los Angeles and McDuffie reached an agreement on a four-year extension worth $124 million, which includes $100 million guaranteed, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday, citing sources. That would make him the highest-paid corner in NFL history.

McDuffie will turn 26 in September and still has plenty more in the tank to offer for a Los Angeles side that should be back in Super Bowl contention next season.

He’s already a two-time Super Bowl champion with Kansas City, with a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2023 followed by a Second-Team All-Pro nod in 2024. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are in a precarious situation after finishing 6-11 in a season where Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL.

In the trade with Kansas City, Los Angeles sent back a package of picks: No. 29 overall, a fifth-rounder and sixth-rounder this year, plus a 2027 third-rounder.

McDuffie was entering the final year of his rookie deal after being picked No. 21 overall in 2021. The Southern California native now gets to return home and play on a historically wealthy deal.

The Las Vegas Raiders secured the No. 1 overall pick after going 3-14. Behind them, there are more than a dozen teams looking to change their fortunes heading into next season.
