On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers played the New York Knicks (at home).

The Lakers (playing without LeBron James) won by a score of 110-97.

Luka Doncic led the way with 35 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 11/25 from the field and 5/16 from three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

Before their victory over the Knicks, the Lakers had announced that they assigned Bronny James (and Adou Thiero) to the G League.

Both players have now been recalled back to the NBA.

Ryan Ward of Lakers OnSI wrote: “The Los Angeles Lakers have recalled guard Bronny James Jr. and forward Adou Thiero from the South Bay Lakers.”

Bronny In The G League

Bronny finished Sunday’s G League game with 15 points, one rebound and two assists while shooting 4/8 from the field and 3/5 from three-point range in 25 minutes of playing time.

He is averaging 15.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 53.6% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range in ten games (nine starts) this season.

Bronny (who was picked 55th in the 2024 NBA Draft) has had limited playing time in JJ Redick’s rotation.

Right now, he is averaging 2.1 points and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 39.7% from the field and 41.4% from three-point range in 31 NBA games this season.

Continuing to get playing time with South Bay will be significant for Bronny’s development as a pro guard.

He is only 21.

The Lakers are the fifth seed with a 39-25 record in 64 games.

They will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.
