MOUNTAIN HOUSE, CA — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 46-year-old man who never returned home after going fishing in eastern Alameda County on Saturday.
Deputies say Shahanur Alam’s last known whereabouts were along W. Grantline Road and Midway Road near Mountain House — an area on the eastern edge of Alameda County.
Alam told his wife he’d be home around noon from fishing, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. When he didn’t return, a friend went to his last known location and could not find him, authorities said.
Alam is Indian, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighs 165 pounds, deputies said. He has black hair with brown eyes, is clean-shaven, and wears prescription glasses.
Alam is believed to have had his cellphone and wallet with him when he was last seen.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts contact the agency at 510-667-7721 or local law enforcement.
