FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A fire in the attic of an apartment building near Clark and Belmont avenues displaced several residents Monday, but firefighters say no injuries were reported.
Fresno Fire crews were initially called for reports of smoke in the area. While en route, crews saw smoke and upgraded the call to a structure fire.
When firefighters arrived, they were told someone might be inside the attic space, prompting crews to search the building. Firefighters cleared the first and second floors and later searched the attic, but no victims were found.
Officials say the fire was quickly extinguished, but 8 to 10 people may be displaced from the five-unit complex due to fire and water damage.
