History

BERKELEY – The California lacrosse team (4-5, 1-3 ACC) scored a season-high nine goals in the fourth period and ran away with a 17-10 victory over Stonehill (3-5) in a nonconference game Monday on another beautiful afternoon at California Memorial Stadium.

The Golden Bears had 10 different players score goals and 12 pick up points in the contest. Emily Moes had a season-high-tying four goals and five points, while Ashleigh Masterson had a career-high-tying three goals. Avery Hoeft added season highs of four assists and five points, while Katie Bloomer and Alina Hsu picked up two goals apiece. Five others – Juliana Doran, Josie Lillquist, Katie McMullen, Dahlen Vilbrandt and Courtney Wong – had one goal each with Lillquist adding two assists and Vilbrandt one. Jane Middleton and Brynn Gallagher also each had an assist as the Bears had 10 as a team.

Cal’s victory came in the first-ever meeting between the Bears and the Skyhawks and snapped Cal’s season-long four-game losing streak.

Cal continues its season-long four-game homestand on Thursday with the Bears’ third game in the stretch against by hosting the nation’s No. 1 ranked team North Carolina (7-0, 5-0 ACC) for an Atlantic Coast contest. First draw is at 4 pm PT and the game can be watched live on ACCNX/ESPN+.
