An armed person was injured in a police shooting Tuesday morning in Los Angeles’ Mid-City area.

The shooting was reported at about 6:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Alsace Avenue after officers responded to a report of someone with a weapon. That person was shot in the upper body after an officer opened fire, police said.

No officers were injured. The hospitalized individual’s condition was stable.

City News Service reported that LAPD officers responded after someone pointed a gun at another person who asked that he turn down his music.

Details about what led to the shooting were not immediately available.
