Disneyland is becoming the proving ground for future Disney theme park bosses as the Burbank-based entertainment company continues a game of executive musical chairs that could soon leave an empty seat atop the Anaheim theme park resort.

The Walt Disney Co. is preparing to name Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum as the new Chairman of Disney Experiences as early as this week, according to Bloomberg.

Mazloum would replace current Disney Parks boss Josh D’Amaro who will become Disney CEO on March 18 at the company’s annual meeting, succeeding outgoing chief executive Bob Iger.

The Chairman of Disney Experiences oversees the company’s global theme parks, cruise lines, resort hotels, consumer products and Walt Disney Imagineering.

Disney has committed to spend $60 billion on theme parks and cruise ships over the next decade.

Mazloum’s appointment as the global Disney Parks boss would leave an opening at the top of the Disneyland resort that would need to be filled. Mazloum would be responsible for selecting his successor as Disneyland Resort President if he became Chairman of Disney Experiences.

Mazloum has run the Disneyland resort since March 2025, overseeing Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the three Disney hotels.

Mazloum has steered Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration and guided the Anaheim theme park as it begins work on a 40-year expansion plan under the DisneylandForward initiative.

Prior to running Disney’s cruise business, Mazloum oversaw the Disney World hotels, Disney Springs outdoor shopping mall and bus transportation operations in Florida.
