RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Hot weather is making a return to Orange County, after the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory across Orange County.
Inland Orange County residents can expect scorching weather from Thursday through Friday, according to the advisory.
Residents will likely experience temperatures ranging from 93 to 98 degrees, with scorching temperatures predicted to continue into the weekend.
The Heat Advisory runs from 10 a.m. Thursday through 8 p.m. Friday, according to the NWS.
According to forecasters, temperatures on Thursday will be around 14 to 18 degrees above average for the deserts into the mountains — and mostly 20 to 25 degrees above average for the coast and valleys.
“The currently forecast high temperatures for most areas on Thursday would be near to exceeding the existing high temperature record for the date,” the NWS said. “There could also be a few records broken for warmest overnight temperatures for the date, mostly in the mountains and inland valleys.”
Residents should monitor themselves and their loved ones for heat risks during the duration of the advisory.
“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun,” the NWS said in a statement. “—And check up on relatives and neighbors.”
