Participants donned their granny gear and accoutrements Saturday for the city of Alameda’s second annual GrannyCon fundraiser. Started by a group of area mothers in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers say the lighthearted event with hundreds of participating businesses and community members raises tens of thousands of dollars for breast cancer research, education and legislation.
