The San Francisco 49ers saw the importance of depth at linebacker last year when Fred Warner went down with a season-ending injury, and a few of his backups missed time as well.
With that, the 49ers are bringing back one of their depth linebackers from the 2025 season, as NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Tuesday that San Francisco is re-signing Garret Wallow.
After missing the 2024 season, Wallow landed with the Denver Broncos in August. He played seven games in Denver before they waived him, allowing the 49ers the opportunity to claim him.
Wallow appeared in four regular-season games, mostly as a special team. However, due to injuries, he started the team’s two playoff games and recorded 12 tackles and a pass defensed in the postseason.
