Arbor Week begins with tree planting in Sacramento’s William Land Park

CALIFORNIA’S ARBOR WEEK KICKS OFF TODAY IN THE CITY OF TREES, THE LAND PARK VOLUNTEER CORPS HAS WAS HARD AT WORK MAKING WILLIAM LAND PARK IN SACRAMENTO A GREENER PLACE. DOZENS OF VOLUNTEERS ARE THE CORPS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS WERE OUT DIGGING AND PLANTING TREES. THEY SAY IT’S PART OF A MONTHLY EFFORT TO CARE FOR THE PARK AND MAKE IT MORE BEAUTIFUL. California’s Arbor Week began over the weekend in Sacramento with the Land Park Volunteer Corps working to make William Land Park greener by planting trees. Dozens of volunteers and community partners participated in the monthly effort to care for and beautify the park.”These trees here symbolize growth and community to us,” said Jane Perez with Golden 1 Credit Union.
