A Fresno County family says they are desperate for answers after a 10-year-old girl from Huron has not been seen for more than a year.

Relatives say they are worried about Esther Nieblas.

They believe her father may have taken her out of the country. The family says their main concern right now is simply knowing that she is safe.

Esther and her father had been living with relatives in Fresno before they moved out in November of 2024.

Shortly after that, family members say communication stopped.

They say the last time they had contact with Esther was that November.

“She’s like our little baby of the whole family,” said Maria Herrera, a cousin of Esther.

Esther’s aunt, Sophia Felisciano says, the girl’s absence has been especially painful for the family.

They say the uncertainty about where she is has been the hardest part.

At first, they believed Esther’s father was simply keeping some distance. But as the months passed without contact, their concern grew into worry.

Family members say they were used to seeing Esther all the time.

Herrera says Esther frequently stayed in touch before contact stopped.

“She would FaceTime me all the time,” Herrera said. “The last messages were in November, and I called it yesterday and the number is not in service anymore.”

The family says they briefly heard from Esther’s father, Rodolfo Nieblas Vasquez, in August 2025.

Felisciano says the family had planned a barbecue and expected him to bring Esther.

“We were supposed to make a barbecue and he never showed up,” Felisciano said. “I asked to talk to her and he told me she was asleep and I’m okay. That’s fine. Just give her a big kiss and tell her that Tia loves her.”

According to the family, that was the last time they were able to reach him.

They say after that call, he stopped responding completely.

Felisciano also says Esther’s mother went to jail in October 2025.

In December, the family says they received information that Nieblas Vasquez had taken Esther to Mexico.

They believe he may have left her with relatives there.

Family members say Esther had never been to Mexico before and that’s when Felisciano says they contacted Huron Police.

According to the family, investigators told them Nieblas Vasquez said Esther was in Mexico visiting and that he was also there.

Felisciano says he offered to let officers speak with Esther over the phone, but police told him they needed to see her in person. The family says he was given a certain amount of time to appear with the child.

He never showed up.

Felisciano says Nibelas Vasquez violated court orders.

According to documents provided to FOX26 by the family, it shows that he is not allowed to take her out of Fresno County or California without parental consent from the mother.

Felisciano has a message for Esther’s father, “Hopefully, you don’t get upset with me. I apologize we had to reach this point,” she said. “We’re just worried about her. We want to see her. We miss her. At least just to talk to her and her mom misses her a lot.”

Family members say they also discovered Esther’s last recorded school attendance was in May 2025.

We reached out to Huron Police for more information about the case but have not yet heard back.

The family says anyone with information about Esther Nieblas’ whereabouts is urged to contact authorities immediately.
