BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Middle school students from around California will soon be headed to Bakersfield to compete in the Vex Robotics Middle School Championship.

The event allows students to qualify for the World Championship in St. Louis.

Qualification matches, robot skills challenges and judged interviews will test students engineering knowledge and ability to work as a team.

Chief Technology Officer Rayshell Fambrough and Program Specialist for Innovative Learning Lisa Canales joined ARC Bakersfield to share more details.

The competition is taking place on March 15 at the Icardo Center.
