There’s a seasonal mash-up in store for Southern California, with summer visiting winter (yes, it’s still winter) for a few hot days around the middle of March.
But nestled between those seasons is sweet, soft springtime, which will officially begin March 20. For those spring lovers seeking its pastoral and precious pleasures ahead of its official beginning, there is an annual happening, or rather “hop-pening,” already taking playful place at Irvine Park Railroad.
It’s the adorable attraction’s “Easter Eggstravaganza,” and it is really and truly a daily thing through April 4, and not just a weekend whimsy.
This festivity is really for the tots, and the grown-ups looking for some old-time diversions, and an uplifting chance to meet the Easter Bunny.
Entry is free, but there are a few extras you may want to purchase, including a visit with the Easter Bunny — that’s $20 — and the activities that have become synonymous with this wholesome destination.
Those jump-in-have-fun pursuits include an Easter Egg Hunt, a Paint Party, and Carnival Games; activity tickets are $8 each and some activities will require two tickets.
The festive and spring-inspired photo spots are free, so wear your Easter bonnet or flower-covered dress or something that suits the season.
Do keep in mind that the Easter Egg Hunt is happening at select times, for select ages, throughout the day, so you’ll want to check the schedule before hopping by Orange.
And yes, and toot toot, and all aboard: The cheery train is running daily through the egg-citing event.
