BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Bakersfield woman has seen pretty much everything in her life and recently celebrated her 106th birthday.
Family celebrated the grand life of Emeteria Sepulveda along with caretakers at Height Street Skilled Care in Bakersfield last week.
Sepulveda was born March 3, 1920 in Kansas, but spent much of her early life in El Molina, Mexico. She grew up on a farm there helping out her family along with her five siblings.

Sepulveda married at 17 in 1937 and spent 79 years together with her husband who died in 2016 at the age of 98. They had five children together.
Today in Bakersfield, and at 106, family says Sepulveda is active and independent. She walks on her own and participates in morning activities with other residents at the Height Street facility.
Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh even honored Sepulveda for her extraordinary longevity.
Family — including her two children Antonia and Pedro — celebrated last week with a party, music and dancing.
