EMERYVILLE — A city resident has been charged with committing a felony lewd act upon a teen girl, then biting the head of her arresting officer, before eventually vandalizing a CT machine after being hospitalized, according to court records.

Jennifer Jackson, 39, was charged with felony counts of groping a 15-year-old girl and vandalism. She also faces misdemeanor charges of battery, resisting police and sexual battery, court records show. She was being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin and was scheduled to enter a plea on Thursday.

Police allege that on March 7, Jackson approached a group of high school students on the 1600 block of Powell Street and began questioning them, which is when they revealed they were 15. She allegedly got behind one of the girls, made a lewd comment about the girl’s body and groped her from behind.

The girl told a teacher what happened. When police responded, Jackson allegedly attempted to bite one officer’s hand before chomping down on the head of the officer who arrested her, authorities said in court filings.

Jackson was arrested and taken to Alta Bates hospital in Berkeley, where she again attempted to bite a police officer, then punched a CT machine, cracking its screen, authorities said.

In the jail log, Jackson’s profession is listed as “student.”
