Klondyke Road paving begins in Long Beach, lane closures expected

  • March 12, 2026

LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) – Long Beach officials say road improvements are underway on Klondyke Road.

Crews will be working on milling and paving from Old Pass Road to LaRosa Road.

The road work began on Wednesday, with paving scheduled to start Friday, March 13, and continue Monday, March 16.

Mayor Tim Pierce said the corridor was identified as a priority during a citywide road assessment.

“When we did the analysis on the roads that needed paving in Long Beach, that one ranked kind of high,” Pierce said. “We figured we’d go ahead and cut that stretch out and go ahead and get it paved. Hopefully, it’ll promote more business in that corridor as well.”

During construction, drivers should expect lane closures and possible delays.

Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time through the work zone.
