A residential burglary in El Segundo prompted a multi-agency investigation with authorities arresting a Temecula man and recovering over $6 million worth of designer bags, weapons and jewelry, the El Segundo Police Department announced Thursday.
After the break-in happened in January near California Street and East Sycamore Avenue, and burglars made off with $600,000 worth of goods, El Segundo police began connecting the dots and ended up collaborating with several law enforcement agencies in multiple jurisdictions.
Finally, investigators traced the suspect to a home in Temecula where San Diego, Glendale and El Segundo police served a search warrant.
What police found inside the suspect’s home was staggering: he had $6 million worth of stolen property, including over 100 designer handbags — Hermès Birkin, Louis Vuitton, Chanel — and 22 pricey watches from Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, according to El Segundo police.
