A motorcycle rider from Reedley died Thursday after crashing head-on with another vehicle in Fresno County.

The collision happened at 6 a.m. on Reed Avenue, north of Annadale Avenue.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and found a 2018 Lexus and a 2022 Honda motorcycle that had collided.

CHP said the Lexus was going south on Reed and the motorcycle was going north on Reed. The Lexus approached slower-moving traffic and attempted to pass the vehicle ahead by entering the northbound lane, where it collided head-on with the motorcycle.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Francisco Fonseca Razo, 47, of Reedley.

The Lexus driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers. The driver was not injured, CHP said

Alcohol or drugs were not a factor, CHP said.

The crash remains under investigation..
