The Justice Scholars Program (JSP) is a student support program within the Student Equity Department at Long Beach City College that supports formerly incarcerated individuals. We support our JSP students every step of the way from application to graduation.

Due to high demand, it is encouraged to visit our Justice Scholars Center located at our Liberal Arts Campus (Carson & Clark) Building A, Room 1006. We are open Monday – Thursday from 8:30am – 4:30pm, excluding Holidays.

Dedicated Support for Incoming & Current Students

We offer virtual support for those who are interested and are unable to come to campus
LBCC Matriculation Assistance: LBCC Application + Financial Aid Application (FAFSA)
Referrals to on and off campus resources (i.e. EOPS, Basic Needs, DSPS, Transfer Center, Scholarships and more!)
JSP Counselor for Academic guidance
Tailored workshops for JSP students (i.e. Formerly Incarcerated Inspirational Speakers, Expungement Clinics, Community Building on Campus, and LBCC Technology Workshops)

LBCC Justice Scholars Student Lead Club

CCCO Rising Scholars Network

Rising Scholars Network is a network of California Community Colleges committed to serving incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students by providing degree-granting programs in correctional facilities and on-campus support for students who have experienced the criminal justice system.
