The City of Long Beach is inviting owners of businesses along the Santa Fe Avenue corridor in West Long Beach to take part in a networking event aimed at strengthening the local business community and exploring the creation of a new business association in the area.

The networking event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Casa Chaskis (2380 Santa Fe Ave.) and hosted by the Department of Economic Development & Opportunity .

City staff has been reaching out to business owners along Santa Fe Avenue, between Anaheim and Willow Streets, to better understand their needs. The upcoming meeting will give business owners a chance to meet, connect and discuss ideas to improve the area with City staff.

The effort is part of the Westside Promise, a City initiative focused on creating jobs, supporting workforce training and promoting economic growth.

The Long Beach Department of Economic Development & Opportunity held the Westside Long Beach Economic and Market Study earlier this year, where more than 40 local business owners, residents and stakeholders gathered to discuss current economic conditions and ways to increase investments in West Long Beach.
